External Memory = It stores information for longer period of time. It is needed because internal storage of computer is insufficient to store large amount of data. Basically external memory is storage device.

USB
USB = Universal Serial Bus = Capacity = 32 MB to 128 GB = USB is one of the main ways that peripherals caused to computer. Ipods connected to computers & sync data 6 then using USB. USB are generaly achieved on computers by plugging USB cables into USB parts on computers &peripherals = It is a plug & play device = Songs, Movies, Text, Videos, Images etc.

Types of OS
1) Single User Operating System = Single User Operating System allows only executions of one program at a time, Eg:- Disk Operating System (DOS).
2) Multi User Operating System = Multi User Operating System allows many users to use compute resources simultaneously, Eg :- Windows.
3) Batch Processing System = Accepts tasks or jobs & places them in a queue to avait execution. This process is called as Spooling and tasks are given priorities, Eg:- Printing 100 pages.
4) Multi Programing = One entral Processing Unit performs multiple tasks.
5) Multi Processing = One job or task performed by many Central Processing Unit.

Internal Memory
Internal Memory = It is the main memory. Internal Memory has 2 parts. 1 is RAM & 1 is ROM
RAM = Random Acess Memory = This is a temprorary memory. The information in RAM is lost when we turn off the computer, Eg :- Blackboard.
ROM = Read Only Memory = The data stored in ROM can only read. We cannot edit or manipulate information on ROM, Eg:- Audio Disk.
